P&H TripRite™
Increased Performance, Reliability in the Dipper Trip Function
With the increasing size and capacity of electric shovels, mines and shovel manufacturers alike have sought a dipper trip system that can handle the increased demands associated with bigger dippers and payloads.
P&H TripRite™ addresses these requirements by delivering increased power and control to the dipper trip function.
P&H TripRite uses an electronically commutated motor to drive a compact gear-reduction system and spooling system. The new system operates with significantly less inertia compared to earlier systems and delivers up to three times more line-pull. System maintenance is limited to periodic gear case oil changes.
A digital drive controls P&H TripRite motor dynamics, providing needed speed, acceleration and motor torque control. The result is consistent, smooth ramp-up to required torque load on the wire rope. Added benefits include longer rope life and reduced motor wear-and-tear.
An integral brake helps prevent rope sag when the operator shuts down the shovel.
Dipper trip adjustments are easily managed using touch-screen software and a GUI.
