Scrubbing the Air of Performance-Robbing Dust
Dust - abundant, ultralight and often difficult or impossible to see - can be a significant cause of equipment downtime in mining environments.

If allowed to accumulate, dust can contribute to overheating and short-circuit problems. This can decrease the performance and useful life of electric motors and controls systems applied to electric mining shovels.

P&H AirScrubPro™ is a powerful, cartridge-based filtration system that greatly reduces the influx of a broad range of dust particles - down to sub-micron size - before they can enter the machinery house.

AirScrubPro, which also delivers robust pressurization volume to the machinery house, is now available as an option on new P&H C-Series shovels.

While the standard P&H air filtration system performs as required in most mine environments, delivering needed machinery house pressurization and filtration, there are some mine environments that require increased air filtration performance.

P&H AirScrubPro removes 99.7% of dust particles down to the size of 0.2 microns (the average human hair is 60 microns, and dust particles smaller than 10 microns are invisible to the human eye). The new system also delivers more house pressurization air flow than the standard system.

Cartridge filters in the AirScrubPro system capture dust before it can enter the house. The system senses when the cartridges need to undergo a dust load discharge. When that happens, bursts of compressed air pop into the center of the cartridges to dislodge the dust. A self-cleaning screw conveyor pushes the discarded dust to a chute that directs it to the ground.
