P&H UniversalTM Dragline System
The P&H Universal Dragline System (UDS) is a new rigging and control system that provides full manipulation of the bucket angle in dig, carry and dump modes. Rather than supporting the bucket at the sides, the rigging is attached at the front and rear, with independent operation of each rope via sophisticated electronics.
Demonstrated results on the first BE 1370 dragline equipped with UDS are as follows:
- Boosts productivity up to 30%, depending on model
- Rigging weighs just 50% of conventional systems, 28,686 lb. (13 tonnes) on BE 1370
- Allows up to 15% greater payload with every pass, without exceeding Rated Suspended Load
- Bucket can be disengaged as soon as it’s full, reducing cycle time
- Increases dump height and dig depth 5.5 meters/18 feet each
- Allows dumping 98 ft. (30 m) inside the boom radius, eliminating “short dumping”
- Provides payback generally within two years
Control of bucket attitude is semi-automatic, with quick and easy fine-tuning available to the operator at all times for full control. Fewer rigging components also mean reduced downtime for maintenance, including rope changes, and increased availability for greater production.
Thorough field tests of the UDS demonstrate outstanding reliability, bottom line performance, and enthusiastic acceptance among mine management, dragline operators and maintenance personnel.
