Our Communities

The success of our company depends on the commitment and capability of our people who are an integral part of the global communities in which we do business. Strong neighborhoods, towns and cities are vital to the well-being of our society and economy. Our commitment to the local community is demonstrated by our investment in measurable programs that address the community’s immediate needs and build a foundation for the future.

At our headquarters in Milwaukee our charitable giving focuses on three initiatives:

Education

By supporting education, particularly programs that focus on the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) based curriculum, we contribute to the development of a skilled workforce. Educational support is directed from K-12 to the university level. Our commitment to the creation of a long term, sustainable future for our shareholders is demonstrated through our investment today in tomorrow’s leaders and specialists.

Some of the organizations we actively support include:
• COA Youth & Family Centers
• FIRST Lego League & Robotics
• Junior Achievement
• Project Lead the Way & Milwaukee Public Schools
• Urban Ecology Center

In addition, an established annual scholarship program with selected mining schools is another way P&H gives back to the community. Together with our sister company, Joy Mining Machinery, we are happy to help promote the study of mining engineering and to help educate future mining engineers. P&H does not directly accept requests for scholarships and requires the universities to administer these awards.
